Signs and symptoms

  • Aseptic meningitis
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Mononeuritis multiplex
  • Lumbosacral polyradiculopathy
  • Acute and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy
  • Bells’ Palsy
  • Guillen-Barré Syndrome
  • Headache and photophobia
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Depressed ankle reflexes
  • Painful dysesthesia, moderate sensory loss
  • Distal weakness and atrophy in varying degrees
  • Multiple cranial and truncal nerves are affected
  • Lumbosacral polyradiculopathy; rapid progressive weakness and numbness of the perianal areas leading to sphincter paralysis
  • Ascending quadriparesis, usually begins in the lower limb and spreads to the upper extremities, bulbar and facial muscle, and in severe cases the respiratory muscles.
