This is an indolent angio-proliferative spindle-cell tumour derived from endothelial and immune cells infected with Human Herpes Virus type 8 (HHV-8). It can form masses in the skin, lymph nodes, or other organs.
Signs and symptoms
- Cutaneous lesions - multiple forms
- Macular, papular, nodular or plaque-like appearance, purple, brown or violet in colour
Gastrointestinal
- Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain
- Diarrhoea
- Haematemesis, melaena
- Bowel obstruction
- Dysphagia, odynophagia
Pulmonary
- Cough
- Dyspnoea
- Pleural effusion
- Airway obstruction
