Isosopriasis is an uncommon diarrhoeal disease caused by Isospora belli. Its occurrence is increased in HIV infected patients.

Signs and symptoms

• Profuse, watery, non-bloody, offensive smelling diarrhoea which may contain mucus
• Cramping abdominal pain
• Vomiting
• Malaise, anorexia, weight loss
• Low grade fever
• Steatorrhea in protracted cases
