This is a very common fungal infection and is often the source of infection at other sites. Keep the feet as dry as possible, and as far as possible avoid wearing socks/ closed-in shoes.

Treat any bacterial superinfection first:

	Medicine	Adult dose	Frequency	Duration
	miconazole cream 2%	topical	2-3 times a day	for 7 more days after resolved
or	clotrimazole cream 1%	topical	2-3 times a day	for 7 more days after resolved
	In severe infections use griseofulvin:
	griseofulvin po*	500mg [Paed = 10mg/kg]	once a day	8 weeks
or	terbinafine cream	apply	twice a day	6-8 weeks

*Take after food or milk. Do not crush tablets.
