General Measures

• Tuberculosis treatment        
  • up to 9 months (2RHZE 7RH)
  • Corticosteroids not recommended, but consider in severe spinal cord compression to reduce oedematous swelling
• Spinal surgery in case of:      
  • extensive extradural compression
  • no improvement/worsening or deficits after conservative treatment     
  • unstable spine       
  • kyphosis >60°
